If you’re aspiring to join Igbinedion University Okada (IUO) for your undergraduate studies in 2024, it’s crucial to understand the admission requirements for both UTME and Direct Entry methods. UTME Entry Requirements:

  3. JAMB UTME Score:
    • Attain a minimum score of 180 in the JAMB UTME examination.
  4. Post UTME Screening:
    • Candidates must participate in the IUO Post UTME screening and perform well in the examination, varying based on the chosen course.
  5. Sitting Results:
    • Only results from a single sitting are accepted.
  6. Correct Subject Combination:
    • Choose the appropriate subject combination for your desired course.
  7. Cutoff Marks:
    • Meet the stipulated cutoff marks for your chosen course.

Direct Entry Requirements:

  1. Age Requirement:
    • Candidates should be at least 16 years old.
  2. O’level Result:
    • Possess a minimum of five credits in subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, without allowing for two sitting results.
  3. JAMB Direct Entry Form:
    • Acquire the JAMB Direct Entry form to apply.
  4. Certificates Accepted:
    • OND, ND, NCE, IJMB, Cambridge A level, BSc, HND, ICAN are acceptable certificates.

General Entry Requirements:

  1. O’level Results:
    • Obtain a minimum of five credits, including English Language and Mathematics, in GCE/WAEC, SSCE/NECO, or SSCE/NABTEB.
  2. Additional Requirements for Law:
    • Candidates must have at least a credit pass in Literature in English.

For 200 Level Entry:

  1. Advanced Level:
    • Passes in at least two subjects at the Advanced level and one additional subject at the subsidiary level in the GCE.
  2. Diploma/NCE/IJMB/First Degree:
    • Candidates with relevant qualifications may seek admission into the 200 level.
  3. Matriculation Requirements:
    • Satisfy the matriculation requirements with five credit passes in relevant subjects.


  1. Can I apply with awaiting results?
    • Yes, candidates awaiting GCE/NECO SSCE/WAEC SSCE/NABTEB results can apply, provided results are available by September.
  2. Is there an age limit for admission?
    • Candidates above 22 years old are not eligible for admission, with exceptions under special circumstances.
