Admission Requirements for HND:

To be eligible for admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) programs, candidates must meet the following criteria:

1. Possess the National Diploma (ND) of the Polytechnic or an equivalent qualification from institutions with NBTE Accreditation.
2. Have a National Diploma Certificate in the intended HND course.
3. Obtain admission through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
4. Possess five (5) O’Level credit passes at one sitting or six (6) O’Level credit passes at two sittings, including Mathematics and English Language in WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB examinations.
5. Have at least one year of Post National Diploma (ND) Industrial Experience (IT) or two (2) years for candidates with no National Diploma.

Note:

• Specific departmental requirements must also be met.
• Departmental requirements include a credit pass in Literature in English for Mass Communication, Economics for Accountancy and Business Administration, and Economics or Commerce for Estate Management & Valuation and Urban and Regional Planning.

Admission Requirements for Professional Diploma in Building Technology:

Candidates must have a lower credit pass in HND in Building Technology from an NBTE-accredited institution or an equivalent qualification. Satisfactory completion of NYSC or evidence of exemption is required. The full-time course duration is eighteen (18) calendar months.

Admission Requirements for Professional Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning:

Candidates must have an upper credit in Urban and Regional Planning in HND from Auchi Polytechnic or any recognized institution with NBTE accreditation. Satisfactory completion of NYSC is required. Alternatively, a lower credit with two years of post-qualification cognate experience and NYSC completion or a pass with three years of post-qualification cognate experience and NYSC completion is acceptable. O’Level requirements must also be met.
