Application Requirements and Procedure:

To kick-start your postgraduate adventure, here are the key requirements:

Minimum General Requirements:

• Candidates must have a minimum of five credits, including English Language and four relevant subjects.
• The credits should be obtained at one or two sittings from recognized examining bodies such as WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or TC11 (Faculty of Education only).

Admission Requirements:

• Postgraduate Diploma Programmes: Graduates with a first-degree classification, or an HND with a minimum of Lower Credit.
• Master’s Degree Programmes: Graduates with the appropriate degree in the proposed field of study, with a minimum FCGPA of 2.50 on a 5-point scale.
• MPHIL/PhD Programmes: Graduates with a master’s degree in the proposed field of study and an FCGPA of 3.20-3.49.

Duration of the Programmes:

• Program durations vary from a minimum of two semesters for Postgraduate Diploma to a maximum of fourteen semesters for part-time Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programs.

Choice of Supervisor:

• Candidates are encouraged to visit the provided link to view supervisors’ profiles and select a supervisor based on their area of specialty.

Method of Application:

• Complete the online application form by visiting https://apply.cpgsportal.unizik.edu.ng.
• Pay the application fee online using the ‘Pay with Credo’ button.
• Include the names, phone numbers, and email addresses of three referees, with at least two being academics not lower than the rank of Senior Lecturer.
• PhD applicants must upload a proposal of not more than five type-written pages.

Application Process for the 2023/2024 Session:

• Sale of Form begins on March 31, 2023.
• Submission of Form for online programs ends on August 31, 2023, and on November 30, 2023, for full-time and part-time programs, respectively.
• Transcripts should be forwarded to the Secretary, College of Postgraduate Studies by September 9, 2023 (for online programs) and December 8, 2023 (for full-time and part-time programs).
• Screening Test and Proposal Defense for PhD applicants will take place from September 12-15, 2023, for online programs and December 12-15, 2023, for full-time and part-time programs.
