To be eligible for admission into the HND programs, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

• National Diploma in the relevant discipline with a minimum of Lower Credit grade and a minimum of one-year post-qualification industrial work experience. In exceptional cases, candidates with a Pass grade and a minimum of two-year post-qualification industrial work experience may be considered.
• Five relevant credits, including Mathematics and English Language at the SSC/NTC/NBC obtained from WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB at not more than two sittings.
• Evidence of ND/JAMB admission.
• ND academic transcripts, except graduates of Federal Polytechnic, Idah, sent to the Registrar, The Federal Polytechnic, Idah.
