FUTA Admission Requirements
For Postgraduate Diploma (PGD):
- A first degree, not lower than Third Class, in the relevant discipline.
- Higher National Diploma (HND) of at least Lower Credit level or its equivalent in the relevant or related discipline.
- Professional qualifications such as ACA, AIB, ACCA, ACIS, or equivalent for the PGD in Computer Science.
For Master’s Programs (M.Agric.Tech./M.Eng./M.Tech.)
- A good Bachelor’s degree of at least Second Class Lower Division from FUTA or other recognized universities in the appropriate discipline.
- Higher Diploma of at least Lower Credit level, and in addition, the candidate must have a Postgraduate Diploma (at Upper Credit level) in the appropriate discipline.
For Master of Philosophy (M. Phil.):
- A good M. Tech. degree or equivalent in the relevant discipline.
For Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.):
- A good Master’s degree in the appropriate discipline with a CGPA of 3.50 and/or 60% minimum average score.
FUTA Duration of Programs
- PGD: 18-24 months (Full-Time), 18-36 months (Part-Time)
- Master’s Programs: 18-24 months
- M. Phil. Program: 18-24 months
- Ph.D. Program: 36-48 months (Full-Time), 48-60 months (Part-Time)
FUTA Application Process
- Visit the University’s website (http://futa.edu.ng) and follow the online application process.
- Use the REMITA method for payment to the School of Postgraduate Studies account.
- Application forms cost N20,000.00 (Ph.D.), N20,000.00 (Masters), and N20,000.00 (PGD) only.

- Ph.D. candidates should email their Research Proposal to [email protected] with the subject format: “Surname_School/Dept.doc,” for example, Ojo_sos/che.researchproposal.
