Admission Requirements:

To be eligible for any Postgraduate program at Alex Ekwueme Federal University, prospective candidates must meet the following general entry requirements:

1. Obtain at least five (5) credits in WASC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB, including English Language. For certain faculties, a credit pass in Mathematics is also required.
2. Possess the minimum entry requirements specified by the respective departments.
3. Graduates of Alex Ekwueme Federal University or other recognized universities with the required qualifications are eligible to apply.

Specific Entry Requirements:

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) Programs:

1. Bachelor’s Degree with at least a Third-Class Honors.
2. HND at Upper or Lower Credit level or its equivalent.
3. Other qualifications acceptable to the Board of the School of Postgraduate Studies and the University Senate.

Master’s Degree Programs:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in relevant disciplines with at least a Second-Class Lower Division.
2. Relevant Postgraduate Diplomas with a minimum of 2.5 CGPA on a 5-point scale or 3.0 on a 4-point scale.
3. Unclassified First Degrees with at least a 60% average score.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degree Programs:

1. Master’s Degree in an appropriate field of study.
2. Minimum of 4.0 CGPA on a 5-point scale or 3.5 on a 4-point scale.
3. A B level (60% average score) at the Master’s Degree, provided research work was part of the program.

Additional Information:

1. O’level passes in English and Mathematics are required for all programs.
2. Accountancy and Business Administration Departments require an O’level credit pass in Economics.
3. Science programs require O’level credit passes in Physics, Chemistry, and/or Biology/Agriculture.

Duration of Programs:

1. Postgraduate Diploma: Full-Time – Two Semesters (Minimum)
2. Master’s Degree: Full-Time – Three Semesters (Minimum) and Part-time – Four Semesters (Minimum)
3. Doctorate Degree (Ph.D.): Full-Time – Six Semesters (Minimum) and Part-time – Eight Semesters (Minimum)

Application Process:

1. Pay the non-refundable application form fee of Twenty Thousand Naira (N20,000.00) at any commercial bank using the Remita platform.
2. Download and complete the online application form at http://funai.edu.ng.
3. Download the referee report forms, fill them, and submit to your referees, including a former lecturer.
4. Forward academic transcript request slips to your universities/institutions for the submission of transcripts.

Submission of Application Forms:

Submit the completed application forms, referee reports, and relevant documents in an envelope marked “PG Admission” to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State.

Closing Date:

The sale of online application forms closes six weeks from the date of this advert, i.e., from 23rd October, 2023, to 23rd December, 2023.

Important Note:

After completing the online admission subscription, print the hard copy and forward it to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, AE-FUNAI, with other relevant documents. All applicants will undergo a paper and pen postgraduate admission screening test.
